| This year Blacksburg Transit celebrates its 25th year of providing public transportation to the community. We remain dedicated to providing real solutions to the major challenges facing our community, such as the environment and the economy. In 2007, the Town of Blacksburg joined other municipalities across the country in committing to the Cities for Climate Protection Campaign. While the availability of public transportation reduces the number of vehicles on our streets, we are also committed to reducing our fleet's footprint on the environment. We plan to convert the entire fleet to biodiesel in the summer of 2009 and are currently researching non-fossil fuel vehicles. | |
